Lange four buckle overlap boots are legendary for their performance. A couple years ago they introduced a very modern stance and improved fits throughout the line creating the RS race boots and RX freeride boots. Since then Lange has set the industry standard in fit and performance. Last season Lange introduced the tour friendly XT line. These boots are basically RX with a walk mode, grippy rubber soles, and a lightweight liner. The XTs ski great and walk well.

The RX 130 LV features a lower volume (L.V.) 97mm last fit and a stiff but not too stiff 130 flex. The Lange 97mm last is much more anatomical that you might expect and is worth trying on even if your feet are more medium tan narrow. Like all Langes, the RX 130 is mono injected; it uses the same plastic throughout the boot making custom shell work a snap. More than any other boot the RX 130 defines the expert level all-mountain category.  For lighter skiers the RX 100 LV is the ticket. It features the same 97mm last as the 130 LV, but a softer flex makes the RX 100 a better choice for lighter skiers or those who just prefer a more buttery flex boot.

If you want a slightly wider fit and walk mode check out the XT 120. It has a 100 mm last and plenty of rubber underfoot to get out of the parking lot and up the bootpack comfortably and securely. The XT 100 is a notch softer, but still plenty of boot for the whole mountain. Whether your adventures are climbing for powder turns, or just talkin’ trash at the bar, the XT walk mode gets it done.

Lange’s ladies boots are every bit a dominate as the men’s shoes. The XT 100 LV has a snug (97mm last) fit and plenty of all-mountain performance along with a walk mode. The XT 90 is a touch softer, and has a wider (100 mm last) fit. Either XT offers great downhill performance, and a tour/parking lot/bar friendly walk function. Petit ladies with slender feet should check out the RX 80 LV for it’s perfect flex and snug fit. This is a “Holy Grail” boot for ladies that have struggled to find a boot that fits narrow feet but need a softer flex.
