Rossignol may not dominate the market like they did in the 80’s and early 90’s but their ski lineup is the strongest it’s been in years. With versatile all-mountain carve skis like the Avengers; complemented by powder slayers like the S7, Rossi is on a serious roll. Welcome back Rossignol, we missed you.
The Avenger skis have really put Rossi back on the all mountain map. In the past we have carried the Avenger 82 Ti with metal and the Avenger 82 Carbon without. This year we carry the new Avenger 82 Basalt. Yes, it does sound a bit odd to use the same stuff Devil’s Postpile is made out of, but guess what? It works. We really like how it combines the power, stability, and edge hold of the Ti with the ease of handling of the Carbon. Avenger 82 Basalt: truly a best of both worlds combination.
The S7 (115mm) is one of the most amazing skis around. It has plenty of standard camber and sidecut underfoot, with pronounced tip and tail rocker. It’s great for going scary fast, but gives you the confidence to make quick moves in tight spots. It’ s one of the best “smearing” skis around, and will have you charging lines that used to look scary as hell. This is the ski to grab on a powder day, but also quite skiable on firmer snow. If the S7 looks to be a bit much for your size or needs, consider the (98mm) S3. It has the same rocker/camber blend and in a narrower package. Our team had a great time on the S3 in every snow condition we could find; it’s playful, versatile, and loads of fun. On the other hand, if you want more beef (actually metal) than the S7, checkout the Super 7 now available in 188 and 195cm.
Rossignol has some very cool women’s skis for this season. The new Temptation 82 is kind of like a super shaped and tip rockered Avenger for the Ladies. Rossi keeps changing the name of the ski that is now called the S7W. It has been called the S110W, and the BC100, but hey it probably should have always been the S7W. Confusing name changes aside, it is the same great wide body rocker concept as the men’s S7, just 5mm narrower. If you want to go from “zero to hero”, or maybe “hero to super hero” the S7W is just the ticket. Shortest size? 168 cm, because the 96mm wide rockered S3 covers the lower sizes, just like the old S110W changed from 110mm underfoot to 96mm in sizes below 168.

Rossignol Boots
Rossignol continues to expand their very successful line of Sensor boots. These boots have it all; neutral stance, great anatomic lasts, top-notch liners, and great snow feel. Nothing to improve here, Rossi boots rock!
Rossi’s Sensor3 shell uses a 100mm last for a versatile fit. The Experience Sensor3 120 and Zenith Sensor3 100 are both responsive boots with great snow feel, and a nice neutral stance.
The Synergy Sensor boots are a more relaxed fit with a 102mm last. We carry the Synergy Sensor 100 and 90 for men. The Vita Sensor 90 and 70 are great fitting boot for the ladies. The women’s-specific cuff is shorter, and scalloped and flared in the rear to accommodate a lower calf.
The Alias Sensor 90 with a 104mm last is great for wide feet and big claves, while the Kiara Sensor 60 accommodates the same fit for women.
