 Fischer is best known for making demanding race bred skis, but the new Watea line is all about performance off piste. The Watea 84 is a perfect all mountain ski for Mammoth. It performs well on hard snow and bumps, and has enough girth for the soft days. Its big brother the Watea 94 is not quite as nimble, but has more surface area for blasting through powder and crud. All Wateas have a smooth and solid ride with good edge hold, and a big sweet spot. The ladies Vision Vapor is and aggressive mid fat carve ski. Tip it up on edge, and it rips across the hill. It demands a skilled pilot with modern technique, and rewards with performance to spare. The perfect compliment to the Vapor is the Vision Zeal. Fischer ski boots hit the market a few years ago, and have been steadily gaining popularity. Their “toes out” Somatec stance really helps to engage the inside ski at the top of the turn. This technology is now being knocked off by a few companies, but patents prevent exact duplication. The Heatfire 115 is a high performance all mountain boot with a versatile fit and sweet flex. It has a neutral stance and is the perfect for tippin’ and rippin’. The Vision 100 is Fischer’s top end ladies boot. It’s a precise boot with a snug fit, and really hooks the ski up.
