Elan has a long history of great race skis (see Ingemar Stenmark) and innovation in shape (see Parabolic). This season Glen Plake (see Mohawk) is on Elan, and reinforcing their commitment to all mountain free ride skis. The 888 was the overall favorite ski in our test this year. It’s smooth and powerful, but also easy handling and very versatile. If you’re not quite up to the 888, check out the Magfire 14. This ski is amazingly forgiving, and will take the advanced skier to new heights. The Zen Master is a true all mountain twin that excels in any snow condition. Our ladies really liked the Mo’ Spice. It’s a nimble twin that’s fun all over the hill. For a bigger ski they really liked the Free Spice; a user-friendly fatty that’s surprisingly agile. The Mag Spice is a versatile midfat that is smooth and easy everywhere. If you are looking for a more nimble ski, the Black Magic is quick and smooth; a great choice for carving up the groomers.
