Nick Lawton has been a resident in the Mammoth area for over eight years and is in his fourth season as a professional fly fishing instructor. Nick is originally from Oklahoma where his fishing roots began. From chasing sunfish, bluegill, and brim to smallmouth, largemouth, and striper Nick has seen many different scenario's on the approach to catching more fish. While visiting the Sierra's as a kid I fell in love with the fantastic trout fishing. With summer vacations with the family to the Sierra's it was no suprise that when Nick graduated high school, he moved to Mammoth to go to college, trout fishing college that is, and now he is doing what he really loves. His advocation is his vocation. Nick is also a very avid fly tier that strives for innovation and creation with all of his patterns, and is also a strong advocate for the preservation and conservation of the Eastern Sierra's. Nick is a young, patient, upbeat instructor with so much passion that it bleeds out the seams of his clothes. Nick is an avid stillwater fisherman, with a 19 ft. Bass Tracker that he uses as a tool for his begineer clients to teach the basics of fly fishing and then moving you onto the stream to where the true art of fly fishing begins. Nick enjoys teaching the finer points of fly fishing on stream to the most advanced angler to the begineer/novice. He will surely be able to instruct you on better tactics to catch more trout. So if you would like great company, professional instruction, and big fish then make your request for Nick today!
